STUDIO SITTINGS

All of our sittings are in our home studio in Lauderdale, 25 minutes from the Hobart CBD. 

We shoot our portraits in 4x5” or 8x10” size on black metal or, when available, premium black glass (which we highly recommend!) All portraits come complete with a presentation stand, and you’ll also receive digital scans via email of all of your images.

4x5” shots will be finished and ready to go around 40 minutes after the last tintype is taken, but 8x10” images take a little longer to dry and varnish, so will be ready for pickup or delivery a couple of days after the shoot. If you’re just passing through or pushed for time we can also send the finished product to you, for a small additional fee.

Gift certificates are available for all of our sittings.

CLASSIC PORTRAIT SITTING

A 45 minute session, for up to two people.

FULL FAMILY SITTING

A 90 minute sitting, consisting of a group portrait of up to six people, and three other portraits of your choice - single, double, or more groups.

PETS

We love photographing pets, but there are some challenges that are unique to tintype. Dark animals, like black dogs or cats, are very tricky - sometimes almost impossible - to photograph well. Lighter coloured animals tend to get better results.

Your pet also needs to be able to sit still for a brief period so we can line up the frame and focus, so that’s another important consideration to keep in mind. Often we get the best shots with you and your pet together.
